Hsien-Ko (Markers) Marker color version of the Hsien-Ko (from Darkstalkers) piece I did about this time last year. I needed marker practice and all I’ve done with my Darkstalkers fanart so far is a few colored pencils mini print sized pieces. Same process as previous: Sketched, inked, scanned, printed, colored, re-inked, scanned. (And fixed a few spots digitally, but I left most of my mistakes as-is.) Blues and green are Copic markers, “pink” is a Prismacolor (a faded “Crimson Red”) with a pink NeoPiko on top of it to deepen the shading (which… doesn’t show well, oh well), yellows are NeoPikos. I think the red eyes are from a Roseart supertip, but there’s no telling. It was just the surest way of getting a good solid red in a perfect dot, so I used whatever cheapie red marker it was.

Happy Birthday Min! My friend’s character Jaden and dolls of my characters Rune (the blond) and Hiro (the one with the star) hanging out. Probably a pretty reasonable shorthand for the dynamics in that friendship trio. xD Scanned a little bright (which washes out the gradient effect on Rune’s hair and makes Jaden’s hair look more blue than it’s meant to be), but I suppose it’s not surprising with the colors I chose. xD; Sketched, inked, scanned, printed out larger, colored with a mixture of Copics, Prismas, and NeoPikos, and then re-inked. The border was added digitally. (But I refuse to put “mixed media” tag on just a border. >_>; )

Studying the Enemy Link studies his most infamous opponent while Sheik looks on in bemusement. I don’t know what it is about me and Link versus chickens (cuccos, whichever you prefer). I just can’t get enough of it. It’s probably just amazing to me that one of the most dangerous things you can do in the series is piss off a chicken. xD It will just never get old. This is actually a re-draw of an almost identical chibi picture I did several years ago. I don’t think I ever posted it, so it’ll be new to even someone long familiar with my work. I think. The original was an old favorite, so I guess I must have been saving it for when I could take the time to color it and then when I finally found it again, it wasn’t good enough to scan. Colored in OpenCanvas.

Kokeshi Magnet Dolls

Semi-3D kokeshi magnet dolls I made for a convention earlier this month. :)

The scans actually show flaws that aren’t readily visible in person. (Like how you can sometimes see the kimono through the obi. It’s less obvious or even completely not visible in person.) The glitter is less offensive in person too. ::laughs:: (Though I’m still glad that I stopped with the glitter after the first test batch.)

I gave many of them nicknames, but it seems silly for me to list them all. But I’ll bet you can figure out who I nicknamed “Citrus-Chan” and “Egypt-Chan”. xD

Details: The magnets are about 2 inches tall by 1.5 inches wide. If you can’t live without one or want a custom doll, they’re 7 USD each. (As always, my prices are slightly cheaper at conventions - so if you’re going to Momocon next year and can wait until then…)

A response to this post by Mr. Gaiman. There’s something that always makes me all gooey about a man expressing missing his wife. And well, I was just in the mood to draw this up. I drew very fast in hopes it’d reach Mr. Gaiman before he logged off for the evening.All he asked for was tea and a hug, but I threw in a kiss for free. (And, before anyone asks, of course the kiss comes from his beautiful wife. She’s lovely and I probably could have sketched faster if I hadn’t spent so long admiring photos of her while trying to decide what to draw her wearing. xD; ) (PS: I couldn’t decide whether or not to make the picture pink or not. The original is in greyscale but I thought it seemed a little dreary for a Valentine. xD; )

Red and Blue Daruma Two darumas with blank eyes, so you can fill them in just like the 3D sort of daruma if you’re working towards a goal. :3 As I hear it, you fill in the first eye when you start a project or work towards a goal and the second when you complete/accomplish it.
